About

These bizarre-looking fruits are custard apples, also known as chirimoya. Beneath their dinosaurish skin, they're a real treat – juicy, aromatic, and fantastically sweet. The mellow, creamy flesh really does have a hint of custard about it.

To test for ripeness, squeeze gently, and if they give slightly (like an avocado), they're ready to enjoy. Prepare by cutting in half, discarding the seeds (don’t eat them), and scooping out the flesh with a spoon.
